KOTA KINABALU: Police are trying to figure out how a policeman lost his service revolver.
The revolver was recovered from two suspected thieves who claimed it was stolen while the policeman was sleeping inside his unlocked car here on Aug 18.
However, the policeman, who is from the narcotics unit, in his report claimed that it was stolen at a toilet in a coffee shop on Sept 8.
Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said they were still investigating the matter to find what exactly happened and were recording the statement of the policeman and the two suspects.
Following the report, it was learned that police arrested the two suspects in their 20s in Kota Marudu, north of Kota Kinabalu.
The suspects led them to the recovery of the weapon at an apartment in Jalan Penampang near here on Wednesday.
