Convert RMVB to AVI or MPG ?

Tech question :

Convert RMVB to AVI better or MPEG better ?

Just bought a LED TV that has a USB port. I used to watch movie on Qvod Player which is RMVB file.

Then i experiment a bit, manage to convert RMVB to AVI (almost 90mins) to test test, transfer to a thumbdrive and i can watch on the TV. But sound quality like not so nice.

Want to try again to convert to MPEG but seek advice here ....

no lah..RMVB is already very compressed - does not help the quality if you scale it back up...either to AVI or MPEG.

Shld have done the compression from the original file

Oh i see, so make no difference if i convert to AVI or MPEG ?

But nowadays the sites download is RMVB file... where can i download AVI or MPEG movies ?

Another question, AVI and MPEG, wats the difference ? Which one better ?
