Over the years PAP emphasis on defense and building a might army force just to do that and conscripted poor and peasants males to be cheap army slaves.
Then more tall ivory towers and high rise sky and sea views HDB and condo buildings are overcrowding the sky. All these were built by FWs from India and little or dripping number of locals are in the constructions industry. Making Indians expert HDB construction workers and builders.
What if a major earth quake cracked Singapore into many pieces and all ivory towers and sky view HDB collapsed like pack of cards. With no significant number local construction work forces and workers in this industry how is Singapore going to rebuild again? The country is broke then and pay foreign Ah Nehs to rebuild Singapore?
Time to ask PAP on this issue? Cheap FWs in construction industry vs pay local well to become construction workers, train them well, a balancing act?
Keep building new ones are easy, make money and everyone happy. One big crack and repairs are costly who will rebuild this Singapore?
