now a day china factory make anything
including nokia, samsung phone for window display

that means they make the phones to look exactly like
the real thing but inside is empty
it was primarly made for shop owners who want to display their phone in the window

but con men turn it into thier advantage
they buy it for $2 to $3 dollar a piece

then sell it ...

Con case 1

one of my 'friend' (not really my friend, just some old greedy fellow I know)

he went to malaysia (KL) one day
while waiting at the bus stop
a china man approach him and sell him a samsung handphone
he says he can sell him cheap
finally a deal was struck
it sold to the old man for M$80
retail price was S$150
for a while he tot he was a proud owner of the latest phone at a very good price

later he realised he was conned
he open up to check the battery but found a piece of rock..

he came back to singapore
and boasted that he bought a samsung phone at very cheap price

I was amazed at him and wanted to know where he got it
becos I wanted to get it also to sell on ebay for a profit
he keep dogding the question and refused to let me take a closer look at the phone
this old man is nasty, he kenna conned and still want to go on an 'ego' trip

it was later I found out from another friend that he was conned by a chinaman in that incident

This is a very common con job in China.

One guy will approach you to sell a brand new phone at a very cheap price. As you are playing with it and considering, another guy will come up to 'kapo', snatch the phone away from you, play with it and will claim that he wants to buy it too. The seller will say that he appriach you first so you have priority, take back the phone, put it back in the box and then will presuure you to buy or he will sell you to the other guy. At this time, the phone would already have been switched to a identical plastic model phone. You decide to buy, take the box back home, open the box and found that you have been conned!

People who think that they can get good deals buying things from people who approach them at bus stops or on the streets, probably deserve to be conned.

The greedy old "friend" of the TS is particularly despicable. Kena conned already, cannot shut up and accept it, still want to boast.

how about people who bought abalone at People's Park during Chinese New Year and paid premium for them, brought the cans home to find baked bean inside
