During the Sino-Japanese conflict, there were several units in the KMT were armed with sabre instead of the usual bayonet. They struck fear in the japanese troops during arm to arm fighting as the sabre have a huge advantage over the bayonet. While the jap officers do have the katana but those make during the war are of poor quality, no match to the sabre aka Da Dao.

pls give the present commie a break, there are many movies/drama serials made regarding to the WW2, a good part of them wear the uniform of the sun on the blue background. Of course, must see carefully, as the units involved in the movie could be red army units fighting under the united front. Many red divisions did serve under KMT flag during the war. So to say the CCP chobulan during WW2 is also not exactly correct.

So see more on this type of show, can go TS stores, there a wide selection of it. I remember being pestered by a TS ah tiong saleguy to buy these DVDs but when i purposely ask for DVDs on Lin Biao, he gave me a blur look. Look like the commie did a great job of erasing Lin Biao from its history.

bro, u r very correct on this!!! of cos the CCP will say KMT useless and KMT will say CCP useless during WWII. but i believe during the WWII, both contributed and a lot of Chinese heroes died defending our motherland regardless CCP or KMT!!!

The nationalists fought in 22 major engagements, each of which involved at least 100K troops from both sides, The Communists fought only two significant conventional battles with Japan that was probably done against Mao wishes ( Pingxingguan and The Hundred Regiments Offensive ) After 1941, CCP fought hardest against Wang Jingwei puppet army for obvious reasons.

In fairness, the nationalists controlled more territories, naturally fought more since they bear full brunt of Japanese attacks.
