Giving birth can control when one meh?

SINGAPORE - Children born in the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar are the smartest, said Singaporean feng shui master Tan Khoon Yong.

According to China Press, Tan said many people preferred not to give birth during this period as the Hungry Ghost Festival falls on the same month.

"Although many people think that this month is not auspicious, it also depends on the year. This year is the Year of the Dragon so children born in the seventh month are more intelligent," said Tan.

The seventh month starts on Aug 17.

Another feng shui master Xu Yi Ting urged mothers to avoid giving birth between 11pm and 5am this month and on the three days starting from the 14th day of the month.

Tan also advised the public to avoid getting married next year as it was known as the Blind Year also called the Widow Year because spring would begin earlier than usual.

To the Chinese, this means that there will virtually be "no spring" next year, which is inauspicious for marriage.

"However, it depends on the couples. If they are confident in themselves, they can get married next year. Otherwise, don't," said Tan.

Imho, fengshui is a big business -from visits, advice to accessories and books. Lives on people's beliefs and insecurities. Run income tax some more, with discreet red packets.

But as they say, don't tempt providence. If bad fortune, fengshui also the fall guy

If they are really so good in fengshui, they wouldn't even need to waste their time dispensing fengshui advice.

Those who can't do, teach.

Helping young people get married and have children earlier - this will be an immediate priority of the new Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF)

Stupid advise. It puts unnecessary pressure on mothers and children who are born during this period. She must be hoping that the parents would seek her advise for remedies. A cheap attempt to generate business. What an idiot!

So those who born in the year of cow will slog all his/her whole life.... Is this what hes trying to implied?

I'm quite sure they don't do it for free.

Many fengshui masters have a working arrangement with certain forms of mainstream media (newspapers, magazines, radio, tv). The fengshui masters get paid for dispensing tips and advice.

It is big business, from selling books, giving seminars, holding consultation sessions, making an appearance on tv etc.

Here's a small list of the more well-known fengshui places in Singapore. There are many more. Remember, it's just a small island:

Religion business make more money. See Ming Yi, Ronny Tan and Kong Hee...all turned their various temples and churches into personal fiefdom and packed with their relatives and cronies.

Many impressionable peasants are truly idiots, claimed Feng Shui or folk beliefs all rubbish then on Sunday you see them pack churches and listen to virgin birth doctrines...truly Asiatic peasants...indolent and dumbos.
