A CENTRAL Narcotics Bureau officer was charged on Friday with four counts of failing to arrest two suspected drug offenders for offering him bribes.

Lim Tian Siew alias Lang Tian Siew, 54, a senior staff sergeant, is said to have failed to arrest and hand Lee Lai Chye and Yew San Yong over to the nearest police station without reasonable excuse for corruptly offering him $30,000 at a coffeeshop near Owen Road on a day in October 2009.

He is accused of similarly not arresting them for offering him $100,000 at Quality Hotel in Balestier Road in May 2010.

Lim told the court that he wished to engage a lawyer.

His case will be mentioned on May 26.

If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $5,000 or a jail term of up to six months or to both on each of the four charges.

Already corrupted total of S$130K so what is $5K fine? This is the amount of salary paid by Lee Kuan Yew to a minister in a month.

TO THE CRIMINALS & CORRUPTS $5K IS NOTHING AT ALL!

Drug syndicates had already learned from Lee Kuan Yew to bribe huge sum of money. The anti-drug law can not work in SG any more!
