Cloud Computing is our absolute North Star: Steve Ballmer
Mumbai,:
Indicating where his company and the Internet was heading, Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer said that for Microsoft, cloud computing was their 'absolute' North Star, which would transform the Internet and way people perceived it.
He said the future of the industry lay in the shared resources, software and systems of Internet based cloud computing.
Speaking at the 'IndiMix 2010' here today, Ballmer said Microsoft was relentlessly tweaking its portfolio of platforms and systems and developing new ones for cloud computing platform.
''As we are pushing new products in the market, we are working on new innovations, capabilities on platforms like Office Explorer, Silverlight and products across the line. It's not just for the users, but web developers who are building new experiences who are fundamental to what we are doing. We have to make it available on the internet (cloud computing products) to make it successful,'' he added.
Ballmer said India was a place where a lot of lot of important software developers were graduating and 'doing great work'.
''I love the strength and vibrancy of software community in India and also the great success of our web platform, thanks to Indian software developers,'' he added.
