A viral WeChat post about Chinese foreign workers grappling with poor conditions and delayed access to medical aid in a Singapore dormitory affected by Covid-19 has prompted an outpouring of aid and support, including from Beijing’s embassy in the city state.
Local media said disquiet in the dormitory in Singapore’s largely industrial Jurong district reached a tipping point on Wednesday, with armoured riot police called in at one point as a precautionary measure.
The Singapore Police Force declined to comment.
Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower meanwhile said its officers had been deployed to the site to investigate.

“Preliminary investigations found that there were indeed some delays in conveyancing workers who tested positive for Covid-19 from their rooms to a care or recovery facility,” the ministry said.

Knn dorm for Sembcorp workers somemore, not some Mickey Mouse construction firm
Semb corp is going to some tough times.
The management is barely clinging on to their pants nowadays.

The PAP fat cats had this dream of building a mega dorm so that they can keep 10k worker inside the dorm. In fact they already have. Problem is that they are trying to increase such dorms in future ,if the PAP fats cats leeching onto the RC gravy trains has their way.

Circumstances for now are that there is danger of such riot , protest or unrest if they insist. The problem will be better manage when they allow this gravy train to spread evenly throughout Singapore. Everyone has a stake in it. Everyone has interest in it. Furthermore, everyone has the incentive to keep the gravy trains moving.

Strange that the PRC is ignorant of the conditions in the dorm and appeared to have done nothing while donating millions to other countries (including vaccines)
Now the Malaysian chinese who are mostly staunch supporters of the PRC are keeping silent and have anyone heard of them doing anything to help?
How many chinese lives are the CCP willing to shed in order to so call reunite Taiwan?
Which is more important to them-people or territory?

Ironically, the laws that stop Sinkies from gathering for political reasons cannot be applied within dorms since that is a side effect of concentrating workers together. Unhappy workers + forced congregation + no loyalty to host country = organized riot potential.

I've offered my company's catering services. We provide more nutritious catered food than the original vendors hired by Centurion or Sembcorp.
