这名女飞行员采用的是典型的抗直升机坠毁操作,对直升机来说坠落时高度越高,平安迫降的几率反而越大。对直升机产生升力的螺旋桨来说,动力不一定就是发动机本身,当直升机发动机故障在高空坠落时,急速下坠的势能会转化为一定的螺旋桨动能,让直升机重新获得一部分升力与操控力,当直升机离地面只有10米左右时,突然改变主螺旋桨角度,将垂直向下的势能转化为一部分向前的势能,可有效减缓直升机坠毁时受到的冲击力。再加上直升机在设计时都有抗坠毁能力,只要坠落速度不是非常高,机组成员的生存概率还是极高的。

中国这名女飞行员的驾驶技术与素养,足以让印度飞行员感到汗颜。印度历来以频繁坠机举世闻名,这其中不仅仅有飞机维护保养不到位的原因,印度飞行员拙劣的驾驶水平与心理素质也是重要因素。在2010年5月22日,印度航空公司的一架波音737客机在降落时发生坠毁,而事故原因令人啼笑皆非,竟然是印度飞行员没睡醒,在降落时忘记放下起落架,事故直接造成158人遇难,堪称近年来因为飞行员失误造成的死伤最严重空难。
