今年6月20日,寒武纪宣布推出新一代云端人工智能芯片“思元270”;

6月21日,华为发布人工智能手机芯片“麒麟810”;

7月3日,百度推出远场语音交互芯片“鸿鹄”;

Zero breakthrough!

On the cover of Nature on August 1st, a Chinese scientific research achievement became the absolute protagonist.

▲This issue of "Nature" cover map (Tsinghua News Network)

This brain-stained, technologically-sounded chip, called "Sky Movement," is the world's first heterogeneous fusion brain chip, and the world's first to support both pulsed neural networks and artificial neural networks. Artificial intelligence chip.

The development of the "sky movement" is the team of Shi Luping of Tsinghua University.

The paper published by the team in this issue has even achieved zero breakthrough in China's two major fields of chip and artificial intelligence.

Although the bicycle is small, the "five dirty" is complete.

Nature's introduction to the study affirmed the "day movement" applied to the test of unmanned bicycles.

The researchers installed the chip on an unmanned bicycle to prove the power and potential of the chip. This unmanned bike is self-balancing and has a voice-activated function that detects and avoids obstacles. This is a powerful feature of the "Sky" chip that can handle multiple algorithms and models simultaneously. (Nature translation)

The research team developed a variety of neural networks to accomplish each task. These models are pre-trained and programmed onto the “Sky Movement”, which can process these models in parallel to enable seamless on-chip communication between multiple models.

Shi Luping believes that artificial general-purpose smart chips can be successful, and multi-disciplinary deep integration is the key. The research team said they hope that the "sky movement" can be used on driverless cars and intelligent robots. They have already started research on second-generation chips, and the research and development phase is expected to end early next year.

For a time, the excellent performance of the "sky movement" made the Chinese netizens who were "unclear" severely thumbs up:

On overseas social media, netizens from all over the world can't help but applaud this new breakthrough in China:

Research and development of artificial intelligence chips

Chinese enterprises "full bloom"

In fact, before this “zero breakthrough”, China’s many achievements in the field of chips and artificial intelligence have already attracted widespread attention at home and abroad.

On June 20 this year, Cambrian announced the launch of a new generation of cloud artificial intelligence chip "Siyuan 270";

On June 21, Huawei released the artificial smartphone chip "Kirin 810";

On July 3, Baidu launched the far-field voice interactive chip "Hongjun";

On July 25th, Alibaba released the artificial intelligence chip "Xuantie 910"...

Hong Kong's "South China Morning Post" reported on July 26 that under the current Sino-US trade friction, Chinese companies are seeking self-sufficiency in the semiconductor industry to improve their core competitiveness.

The British "Financial Times" also pointed out that these efforts by Chinese giants such as Huawei and Alibaba are intended to "create products that can replace foreign software and hardware."

"China's artificial intelligence power that has come from behind has received more and more attention from the international community." On July 28th, Singapore's "Lianhe Zaobao" exclaimed.

According to the report, since the 1950s, the United States has been far ahead in the field of artificial intelligence, and Europe and Japan are far behind. However, after entering the 21st century, China has sprung up, rising rapidly from academic and industrial to second in the world.
