Chinese national jailed 4 months for overstaying

A CHINESE national who surrendered herself to the police after overstaying here for 1,283 days, was fined $2,000 for having a mobile phone that had been fraudulently obtained.
A district court heard on Tuesday that a check revealed that the cell phone had been reported missing by its owner last year.
You Yujiang was also fined $4,000 and jailed for four months for overstaying.
Asking for leniency, the 40-year-old said she had turned herself in on April 25. The court was not told why she overstayed.
