Tourist Police stationed at Suvarnabhumi International Airport yesterday announced the arrest of three Chinese men for allegedly stealing valuables from Airport Link train passengers.
Tourist Police Deputy Commander Colonel Achayon Kraithong told a press conference that Feng Huafeng, 31, Liu Xiaocheng, 28, and Bai Chengming, 34, had been charged with theft.
The trio were presented to the media along with various currencies worth Bt180,000, two Thai cash-withdrawal electronic cards and a foreign-based card, five smart phones and a bag belonging to a victim.
Achayon said the men were apprehended at the Airport Link station on the terminal's underground floor on Wednesday evening after a Swedish victim last Monday filed a police complaint stating that a pick-pocket stole Bt20,000 and a credit card off him.
Police inspected CCTV camera footages and discovered six suspects targeting a lone traveller and stealing valuables, he said.
The trio denied the charges but a police search of a Ratchathewi hotel room found stolen items including those belonging to the Swedish victim, he said.
