Chiang Mai group protets against Halal estate

It doesn't look like everybody will simply yield to Islamic demands, in Chiang Mai, a Buddhist group objects to the building of a Halal Industrial Complex. Hope their action is reported and becomes a starting point for the rest of the world to unite against the Islamisation we see trending acros the world lately. Keep it up Thailand!

Communities Protest Against Building Halal Industrial Estate in Chiang Mai

CityNews – A group of monks and local authorities from 25 districts hosted a meeting at Wat Phan Ohn to sign an agreement to oppose the construction of the Halal Industrial estate in Chiang Mai.
The Halal Industrial Estate has already been given the go ahead by the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce along with a large number of organisations and corporations.
Once the plans were made, there was immediate objection by the locals in the Doi Lo district, resulting in the project being put on hold.
The Chamber of Commerce have now announced that they will build the estate in another district of Chiang Mai, igniting new opposition.
The new meeting held has collated signed documents that will be submitted to the Chiang Mai Governor, expressing the group’s standpoint against the building of a Halal Industrial Estate anywhere in Chiang Mai.
The group fears that the construction will have many negative effects on the area, including pollution, waste management and social conflict between the majority Buddhist population and the Islamic practices involved with Halal food preparation.

Some Western Democracies have got too much "individual" and "Human" Rights stuff embedded in their systems, only to be misused by unscrupulous groups and individuals that it encroaches into the rights of others in their societies. It is about time they look at their laws and plug up the loopholes in them that allow this to happen. Else, it is up to the freelance vigilante groups to form militant gangs and take care of the issue on their own. It may already be happening, just probably not reported. I don't think the White Supremacist groups are sitting down quietly while the Muslim gang are crawling all over town.

This Halal stuff is getting a bit out of hand, it's social apartheid disguised as religious preference in the manner which food is prepared.

If you go Changi Village, they now have a rack where they expect you to segregate between halal and non-halal cutlery and utensils. The same of Koufu food court.

They are building their own fiefdom.

Social Apartheid!?!? Wow, never thought about it in that sense, but it is segregation!!! On whatever grounds, it still is.

Well, it looks like it is endorsed and accepted by the society. No one is persecuted. And here, there is freedom to choose which religion one wishes to believe, so there is nothing wrong with it. There is balance here in Singapore, and the equilibrium looks quite stable and steady. I think the residents in the island have come to accept each other's culture and creed, so long as it doesn't cause any friction, everybody is quite happy.
