One ho-hum hodgepodge of thick white (beehoon) cum thin yellow (egg noodles), a smattering of jaundiced sea creatures and exiguous pork belly filaments all writhing in the throes of some irreparably claggy gunk - this bastardized affair ain't anywhere near ready for prime time. Ditto the amateurish trite sambal chilli which screamed bloody wrong on so many levels.

Further factor in an asshole server encountered, coupled with nearly 40 minutes spent waiting, it therefore more than suffices to award two fat thumbs down. WAY DOWN.

I'm just amused why someone would use obnoxiously bigs words on a street dish made for the common man.....It makes more sense if she criticized some exotic caribbean cuisine with her ostentatious expression of vocabulary.
 
Chia is the wet version noodle and Ah Hock is the dry version. Honestly Ah Hock is much better $3 big portion.
The only plus point of Chia is the chilli

What do you mean by hidden catch ? This is my go-to place when I want this dish. And the chilli padi is a killer. What kind of catch are you expecting from a Hokkien mee ?
