he is so happy with such a good deal

he went to his friend's shop in Chinatown

and he just fainted!!!

two years back
my friend and his wife went to Bangkok on a conducted tour
they were brought to a genuine government sponsored jewellery shop
it was certified genuine factory of the government
so they were shown the processes of jewellery making
they were very impressed
and at the end of the conducted factory tour, they were led to a room where an expert spoke to them
the expert impressed my friends - the red sapphire would bring them good luck, success and plenty of healthy children
they were so impressed that they bought one set of the red sapphire - the ear rings, the pendant,the bracelet and the rings...
all at a fantastic discount price of 60,000 baht. my friends were so pleased at such a great discount price..

went home
brought his red sapphire to his friend
and he too pangsan!!!!

they were are fakes!!!!!
another victim of the great Bangkok Jewel Scam!!!

the lesson:
don't buy any gems or jewellery from a thai "government-sponsored" or " government-centred" export centre

worse still, if you are persuaded to buy from strangers you met during your trip.....they are all part of a scam to get you to buy all these
over priced stones

pls be careful..

don't think you are smart, these scammers are always one step ahead of you
and their tactics change to get you - like a predator devouring its prey with easy

singaporeans are rather gullible

but many angmohs are just as gullible and stupid...

If one is not greedy on the lookout for durian to drop type of bargains then I doubt you'll be conned so easily.

Stewpig sinkies always believe in certification and what not govt backed guarantee. All these also can be faked. Like how fts use fake degrees......opps now papoies calling them non accredited degrees like calling ah long loabshatks as unlicensed money lenders.

I share my experience with thai amulet industry.
There are fake abounds as well as this is also a multi million industry.
Everything that can enhance an amulet value can all be faked. Certification etc are all small beer......they even go to extent of forming fake amulet associations, verification committees and hold fake competitions with fake judges just to lend authenticity to their amulets. It's all well organized well structured kind of con.
