Try telling that to prudent car owners who have resisted buying new cars for the past 20 years - he now has to fork out about $70 to $85k to have his car running for another 10 years.
It was also not so long ago that when told that HDB prices were unaffordable, he (now into the river taxi business) told everyone to get longer term loans, and viola, HDB prices are affordable.
