Charlie Sheen rushed to hospital

LOS ANGELES - TROUBLED US actor Charlie Sheen was rushed to hospital in Los Angeles on Thursday with severe abdominal pains, a spokesman said.

The TMZ celebrity website said the 45-year-old actor was in 'serious' condition at Cedars Sinai hospital, and quoted neighbours saying they had heard loud partying until the small hours.

'All I know is he was having severe abdominal pains and went to the hospital,' his spokesman Stan Rosenfield told AFP, after TMZ reported that he was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher at around 7am (1500 GMT, 11pm Singapore time).

TMZ said a 911 call was made at 6.35am, and that two young women were seen leaving the house at the same time while Sheen was taken out with a towel partially over his face.

It later said Sheen was in the emergency room, sleeping, but quoted a hospital source as saying: 'It's serious.' His actor father Martin Sheen and mother Janet Templeton were at the hospital, TMZ said.

Neighbors of the star reported hearing women singing Red Hot Chili Peppers songs loudly into the early hours, TMZ said, reporting that he was believed to have been having a 'wild' party with five women. -- AFP
