Challenge to PAP to review and repeal repressive laws before engaging Singaporeans
>1. Newspaper press and printing Act: dismantle SPH and MediaCorp, liberalize the media landscape and allow private companies not affiliated to the government to print newspapers and runs broadcast stations.
2. Internal Security Act: replace the Act with an Anti-terrorism Act to deal specifically with terrorists so as to prevent it from being abused again to detain political opponents without trial.
3. Sedition Act: repeal the act and transfer its existing provisions to the Harmony Act to prosecute offenders who made inflammatory comments against any particular race or religion only.
4. Public Orders Act: repeal the act and allow Singaporeans to assemble freely anywhere on the island without a police permit.
5. Public Meetings and Entertainment Act: amend the act to allow Singaporeans to make speeches (barring racist and inflammatory comments) on any issues anywhere in Singapore, be it indoors or outdoors.<
