党员数量平稳增长。全国党员总量增幅为1.5%，比上年提高0.3个百分点。全年发展党员234.4万名，比上年增加28.9万名，产业工人、青年农民、高知识群体和非公有制经济组织、社会组织中发展党员数量增加明显。
党员队伍结构持续优化。女党员2559.9万名，占27.9%，比上年提高0.7个百分点；少数民族党员680.3万名，占7.4%，比上年提高0.1个百分点。40岁以下党员超过总数的三分之一，队伍年龄结构有所改善。工人和农民仍占主体，占比为34.8%。党员队伍文化程度继续提高，大专及以上学历党员超过半数，达4661.5万名。
党员教育管理不断加强。各级党组织深入开展“不忘初心、牢记使命”主题教育，加大党员教育培训力度，全年培训党员数量比上年增加24.3%，99.7%的乡镇直接组织开展农村党员集中培训。党的组织生活更加严格规范，3201个地方党委领导班子召开民主生活会，400.7万个党支部召开专题组织生活会开展民主评议党员，任期届满的111.5万个基层党组织按期完成换届。
基层党组织建设不断加强。全国共设立基层党委24.9万个、总支部30.5万个、支部412.7万个，分别比上年增加1.0万个、0.6万个、5.5万个，组织设置更加科学规范。农村基层党组织在脱贫攻坚中战斗堡垒作用增强，选派第一书记24.0万名，实现建档立卡贫困村和党组织软弱涣散村全覆盖。城市基层党建创新发展，各领域党组织互联互动，实行与驻区单位党建联建共建的街道、社区有8123个、6.5万个，占比分别提高3.4、2.6个百分点。基层基础保障力度加大，95.8%的社区落实服务群众专项经费，提高2.7个百分点；全年新建或改扩建村级组织活动场所5.0万个。国有企业、机关、高校、公立医院和非公有制企业、社会组织党建工作得到新的提升。

The party members of the Communist Party of China continue to develop and grow
Grassroots party organizations have further enhanced their political functions and organization
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 30. According to the latest intra-party statistics of the Central Organization Department, as of the end of 2019, the total number of CPC members was 91.914 million, a net increase of 1.32 million from the previous year. There were 4,681,100 grassroots organizations of the Party, a net increase of 71,000 over the previous year. The CPC's cohesion and fighting strength are constantly increasing, the party's organizational system is more sound, and the party's ruling foundation is further consolidated.
The number of party members has grown steadily. The increase in the total number of party members nationwide was 1.5%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points from the previous year. There were 2.344 million party members in the year, an increase of 289,000 from the previous year. The number of party members in industrial workers, young farmers, high-knowledge groups, and non-public economic organizations and social organizations increased significantly.
The structure of party members continued to be optimized. The number of female party members was 25.599 million, accounting for 27.9%, an increase of 0.7 percentage points from the previous year; the number of minority party members was 6.803 million, accounting for 7.4%, an increase of 0.1 percentage points from the previous year. Party members under the age of 40 exceed one-third of the total, and the age structure of the team has improved. Workers and farmers still dominate, accounting for 34.8%. The education level of the party members continues to improve, with more than half of the party members with college education and above, reaching 46.615 million.
The education management of party members has been continuously strengthened. Party organizations at all levels carried out in-depth education on the theme of "not forgetting the original intention and remembering the mission", and increased the training of party members. The number of party members trained throughout the year increased by 24.3% over the previous year. 99.7% of towns and villages directly organized centralized training of rural party members. The party's organizational life is more stringent and standardized. 3,201 local party committee leadership groups held a democratic life meeting, and 4.007 million party branches held a special organizational life meeting to carry out democratic evaluation of party members. The 111.5 million grass-roots party organizations that expired their term of office completed their appointments on schedule.
The construction of grassroots party organizations has been continuously strengthened. A total of 249,000 grass-roots party committees, 305,000 general branches, and 4.127 million branches were established nationwide, an increase of 10 thousand, 60 thousand, and 55,000 respectively over the previous year. The organization is more scientific and standardized. Rural grass-roots party organizations have strengthened their role as a fighting bastion in the fight against poverty, and selected 240000 first secretaries to achieve full coverage of poor villages established in Lika and weakly scattered party organizations.
