SINGAPORE — A Singapore permanent resident (PR) who had failed to declare his recent travel to Batam has had his re-entry permit shortened, the Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said on Wednesday (March 25).
Mr Michael Wiluan, 43, had arrived in Singapore from Los Angeles in the United States on March 20, the same day that measures to issue stay-home notices to all travellers, including Singapore residents, were to kick in at 11.59pm.
This kind of irresponsible behaviour of this PS, and many other FS/PS like him, is unacceptable. It can only mean the pappies' efforts to rein in the spread of Covid in sinapor is a waste of time and efforts. The ICA caught him for false declaration and yet he was only penalised with "shortening of his PS permit".
Why paps did not revoke his PS? A case of "catch and release"? Now who is afraid of not submitting truthful declaration to the paps if there is no dire consequences? Shortening of his PS is just a joke.
When paps are foolish and do not enforce this declaration seriously, all other PS will bull shit their way to re-enter the country and spread Covid.
