A cat was found dead at the lift lobby of Block 13 Jalan Bukit Merah on Saturday, only 50 minutes after it was last seen alive.
According to a Facebook post by the Cat Welfare Society, this is the fifth unnatural death in the area in the past two months.
The post, which appealed for information on the incident, was accompanied by two photos of the cat Tong Tong.
One showed it alive and well while the other showed it lying in a pool of its own blood.
The post said:
"Appeal for Information - On 14 Feb, Tong Tong (a community cat) was alive and last seen near Blk 13 Jalan Bukit Merah (behind IKEA) at 5.10pm.
"At around 6pm, caregiver found Tong Tong's dead body right beside Blk 13 lift lobby.
"This is the 5th case of unnatural death in that area for last 2 months. We need more eyes on the ground to keep community cats safe. SHARE and Help raise awareness!
