Cash-strapped wife buries husband in backyard

A California woman buried her husband in their backyard because she says she couldn't afford a proper funeral.
Neighbours are now raising money to give Thomas Winn a proper burial, NBC4 reported from San Bernardino, Calif.
Winn, 63, died last month, the TV station reported, and was found buried in a four-to-five-feet deep hole wrapped in garbage bags.
The backyard burial was discovered when police showed up to do a welfare check on Winn and his wife, Yvonne, said she didn't have enough money for the funeral. Police said they don't suspect foul play.
Neighbours told NBC4 that Yvonne, 59, did a lot of yard work, including planting trees and building a shed, so they weren't surprised she dug the makeshift grave herself.
A website for donations has been set up and a local business donated a tuxedo.
