Cash, gems stolen from flat
MORE than $10,000 in cash and jewellery were stolen from a flat in Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 on Monday. The items, which were taken from the master bedroom, comprised $1,129 in cash and assorted jewellery worth $9,000. At about 2pm, a resident of the flat, a 26-year-old student, locked up the place to go out. When he returned about seven hours later, he saw that the window grille in the living room had been tampered with and valuables in the flat missing. Among the jewellery pieces stolen were bangles worth $4,000 and a necklace valued at $2,000. The jewellery belonged to the student's mother.
