Instead of just grooming and servicing the cars that came to the workshop he worked at, a 25-year-old car groomer is believed to have stolen the cash cards in them.
He was arrested for the alleged thefts on Thursday morning.
The thefts came to light after one victim lodged a police report in July that he had lost his cash card after sending his vehicle to the workshop in Ubi Industrial Estate, the police said in a media statement on Thursday.
They added that unauthorised transactions were made using his lost cash card.
The suspect, who was arrested along Arumugam Road, is believed to be involved in at least two such thefts in May and July.
If convicted of theft, he faces a maximum jail term of three years.
