Canadian industries have been looking after their workers with higher pay.

Average non-farm weekly earnings rose 1.9 percent to $830 per week in September with employment increasing overall by 15,900 jobs.

170 of 305 industries surveyed reported gains.

Growth in September was led by the goods sector, which loaded up with 27,500 new jobs.

Construction industries gained 10,000 new jobs.

There were some losses with service industries yielding a net loss of 4,100 employees.
