after 51 years of mystery and unsolved murders, the puzzle is finally solved by a team of 3 codebreakers. the killer is still unknown to this day.
 
They will be searching for a person who spells Paradise wrongly.
could be a gambler who frequently dealt with dice, like in crap and roulette. or perhaps, he played russian roulette with his weapon of choice. anyway, he knew cryptography, which could narrow the field. i use the past tense because I think he's either in a nursing home and rendered senile or he's dead.

Yes, paradice = pair of dice. And the most popular usage of paradice is with reference to the 506th Parachute Infantry insignia used in WW2. Killer could have been ex-military, trained in cryptography by the US govt to break nazi or jap codes.
