Dang Wangi deputy OCPD Supt Nor Azman Muhammad Yusof said the 40-year-old suspect gave himself up at the Dang Wangi police district headquarters at about noon yesterday.
The man is believed to have stabbed the lover, a 33-year-old China national who had previously worked in Singapore, in the wee hours of Oct 13.
The incident allegedly happened at the suspect's house in Triang.
The victim later died of his injuries while the suspect's wife, who was also attacked, is recuperating in the hospital.
Police recorded statements from the wife, also 33, and sought Interpol's assistance to contact the victim's family in Guangzi, China.
The murdered man, who had worked as a supervisor in a food outlet in Singapore, had reportedly come to stay with the suspect's wife, a Singaporean permanent resident, at her invitation to purportedly protect the woman from her abusive husband.
The couple has two children, who are now staying with relatives.
