Assuaging fears of Singapore becoming a barren, flora-free city-state, it seems that HDB has installed next-level measures in new flats to ensure that we'll never go hungry once technology finally fails all mankind.

A resident of a newly built flat at Punggol by the name of Sarah Yee has gone to All Singapore Stuff to raise a frustrating issue that has taken root in her mind and in her house — white mold are growing out of her house's wooden doors.

Unsurprisingly, the door in subject leads to the toilet, which obviously encourages growth of a fungal ecosystem, considering the daily damp conditions. Yee however is taking issue with the fact that the quality of build-to-order flats are now so inferior that even mushrooms can grow at home (either a good or bad thing, depending on extremity of your appetite).

What Yee should know is that mold will grow in any damp or humid conditions, no matter if its a BTO flat, a condo apartment or the Istana. It's a pretty common issue worldwide really. Here are some tips on how to remove mold from wooden doors.

What's wrong with a zinc or PVC or glass door for a bathroom?

Even if it is a wooden door, if it is made of solid hard wood and properly painted or coated with varnish, nothing should grow out of it.

Must be cheapo outsourcing so HDB can make insane profits.
