AFCD will continue to closely monitor the dogs and will repeatedly test them.

The case involved a German wolf dog living in a residence in Pokfulam District. Due to the diagnosis of neocoronary pneumonia by her husband, the dog was taken to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port Animal Shelter for quarantine yesterday (18th) together with another Tang dog. A sample of the Don dog did not test positive. Neither dog is currently experiencing any signs of neo-coronary pneumonia.

[Sing Tao Daily] A spokesman for AFCD announced in the evening that a dog was positive for repeated tests of 2019 coronavirus virus. This is another infection following a 17-year-old squirrel dog who had been infected with the disease by a wealthy woman named Zhou Qiaoer, who showed a weak positive response to the virus repeatedly.

The case involved a German wolf dog living in a residence in Pokfulam District. The dog was confirmed to be infected with the virus by the dog, and the dog was taken to the animal shelter of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Port yesterday for quarantine together with another donkey. A sample of the Don dog did not test positive. Neither dog is currently free of any virus-related symptoms.

AFCD stated that the dogs would continue to be closely monitored and repeatedly tested. AFCD will work with the Department of Health to handle relevant cases. To ensure the health of the public and animals, the Department strongly recommends that pets (mammals, including cats and dogs) living with those diagnosed with New Coronavirus or their close contacts be arranged for quarantine at the AFCD's quarantine facilities.

The AFCD reminds people who keep pets to keep good hygiene habits, including washing their hands before and after they come into contact with animals or their food and articles, avoid kissing animals, and keep the home environment clean and hygienic. People who are unwell should avoid contact with animals. If you notice changes in your pet's health, you should seek the advice of a veterinarian as soon as possible.

AFCD emphasized that there is no evidence that pets can transmit the new crown virus to humans or they may become ill as a result. Owners should always keep good hygiene habits and under no circumstances should pets be abandoned.
