Brazil Serie A wrap: Seedorf earns Botafogo point
24 September 2012

A Clarence Seedorf double helped Botafogo rescue a point in a 2-2 Brazil Serie A draw with Corinthians on Sunday.
The Dutch midfielder, who counts Real Madrid and AC Milan among his former clubs, signed for Botafogo this season and has become an instant success.
In addition to impressing in midfield, he has also chipped in with goals and he made it four in three games with a brace against Corinthians.
Seedorf opened the scoring with a sixth minute effort but less than 10 minutes later, Corinthians were in front.
Peruvian Paolo Guerrero levelled proceedings and Douglas netted a penalty shortly after.
Seedorf delighted the home fans with his 75th minute equaliser at Estadio Olimpico Joao Havelange and it was enough for the sixth-placed Botafogo to claim a point.
In other matches, Osvaldo struck a 68th minute winner for Sao Paulo as they edged Cruzeiro 1-0 while Atletico Mineiro and Gremio – second and third on the table respectively – played out a goalless draw.
Uruguayan Diego Forlan was on the scoresheet for Internacional in their 3-1 home win over Bahia while Cleber Santana and Liedson netted for Flamengo as they came from behind to beat Atletico Goianiense 2-1.
Sport Recife beat Coritiba 1-0 thanks to Gilberto's stoppage time penalty while Ponte Preta and Vasco da Gama played out a goalless draw in the day's other game.
