A dispute between two 16-year-olds led to one nursing injuries and the other getting arrested on May 26.

The altercation involved a boy and a girl, who were apparently engaged in what looked to be a lovers' quarrel turned violent, according to footage of the incident uploaded online.

Speaking to Mothership, police confirmed that the argument took place at Al Mubin Food Court along Block 418 Bedok North Avenue 2.

Boy roughs girl up​

Videos viewed by Mothership showed the male teen visibly agitated as he conversed with the girl.

Voices were raised, and were audible even from across the coffee shop.

As things escalated and tempers flared, the boy roughly shoved the girl to the ground.

He then stood over the fallen girl and landed at least one kick.

When the girl tried to sit up, he grabbed a fistful of her hair and yanked her back down.

Another couple, who appeared to be acquainted with the squabbling duo, were also present at the scene.

The male person appeared to passively watch the fight unfold, while the female person appeared to intervene.

Girl gets shoved multiple times​

Refusing to back off, the boy allegedly continued his assault on the girl.

Another clip showed him pushing her down again, before smashing what appeared to be her mobile phone onto the ground.

According to a witness who spoke to Mothership, she also allegedly heard the boy screaming for his clothes to be returned.

Aftermath​

Responding to Mothership's queries, the police said they were alerted to the incident at 2:35pm.

Upon arrival, they found the girl to have sustained minor injuries, but she refused to be sent to the hospital.

The boy has since been arrested for criminal intimidation.

He is currently assisting the police with investigations for voluntarily causing hurt and mischief.
