Botched suicide: Parents charged with murder of five-year-old daughter

PETALING JAYA: The parents who attempted to commit suicide as a family were charged in a magistrate's court here with the murder of their five-year-old daughter.
Hiew Yook Cheang, 49, and his wife Wong Yin Tinn, 37, had the charge read in Mandarin before magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid on Monday.
The offence was allegedly committed at Sri Manja Square between Sept 13 and 17.
The court later fixed Nov 7 for mention.
They first attempted suicide on Sept 11 by burning charcoal in the master bedroom before they went to bed in their second floor apartment at Sri Manja Square, Taman Sri Sentosa, off Old Klang Road here.
