Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide of a married couple on Queensland's Gold Coast.
A man and woman were found dead at their home at Pacific Pines this afternoon.
The couple's only daughter found her mother, 59, in the pool at 1:15pm (AEST).
Detective Acting Superintendant Scott Knowles said she called paramedics.
"It appeared at this point that she had drowned," he said.
Authorities then discovered her 56-year-old husband's body inside the house.
"Whilst they were attending to that woman, a search of the house, looking for her husband, has resulted in his location," he said.
"At this point in time, police are treating the death of the female as suspicious whilst the male's death does not appear to be suspicious."
Acting Superintendant Knowles said investigations were underway.
"We need to investigate to determine whether there's any suspicion to both deaths and determine exactly what occurred and how it resulted in the tragedy."
Police said the daughter did not live with her parents.
Dylan Cooper, who lives nearby to the couple, said he saw the daughter being taken away.
"She was in hysterics. That's got to be a horrible thing to come home and find," he said.
"We'd met the couple that lived there and there was nothing really wrong with them. Really happy bunch.
"It's a bit of a shock to have it happen in your own backyard."
