As at 2012, with a population of 5.3M comprising of 3.3M Singaporean and 2M foreigners, a host of problems is already unbearable to Singaporeans. Job lost to foreigners, depressed wages, space constraint on this tiny island, crowded transport system, social fabric tear, high cost of living, high inflation, bad civil liberty, information flow curbing with state controlled mainstream media, continual change of CPF withdrawal amount and age, and lack of accountability and transparency of government agencies.

Chief of those is good PMET jobs for Singaporeans mentioned in the white paper but not addressed. With ever influx of younger foreigners willing to work for less and at longer hours, age and wage discrimination against Singaporeans are rampant. Singaporean PMETs above 40 years old are having difficulty finding job similar to that before their retrenchment or replacement by younger and cheaper foreigner workers.

Many had been relegated to self-employed jobs such as taxi-driver and property agent. TAFEP has no teeth just like CASE. In any case, it’s a reactive agency able to talk only. MOM’s Employment ACT does not cover executives and managers. SG unions are also toothless being controlled by the government to appease employers at the expense of employees.

The white paper says foreign labor is for healthcare, retail, F&B services, construction and highly skilled labor with cutting-edge skill to transfer to Singaporeans. So why is MOM not establishing first laws such as proof to show recruitment for Singaporean PMET for a specific duration has been unsuccessful to protect PMET as a Singaporean first policy? Infrastructure and buildings can be built but Singaporean needs job to pay for those. Therefore, laws to protect Singapore PMET over foreigners must be established before building hardware for foreigners!

The white paper 3 key pillars are not seen with a 5.3M population in 2012. How will it be seen in a larger population of 6.9M in 2030? Here are the 3 pillars stated in the white paper:
First, Singaporeans form the core of our society and the heart of our nation. To be a strong and cohesive society, we must have a strong Singaporean core.

Second, our population and workforce must support a dynamic economy that can steadily create good jobs and opportunities to meet Singaporeans’ hopes and aspirations.

Third, we must continue to keep Singapore a good home, with a high quality living environment.
If 25,000 PRs convert to Singapore citizens yearly and we keep the 500,000 PRs constantly every year; together with the increase of Singapore citizen’s babies, replacement level should be normal. Why is there the need for some 50,000 additional foreigners yearly?

Isn’t this a case of more is better without balancing with cost to fund public expenditure to benefit companies and not majority of ordinary folks? What if there’s a downturn in economy? Wouldn’t such inflated foreigner based economy worsen a global glut to the misery of locals? The first Lee reduced SG’s population with abortion and sterilization policy to the damage of SG in the long run. His son, the current Lee is now intending to increase SG’s population with influx of foreigner policy forcing many to suicide due to loss of livelihood and damaging SG in the long run.

Both Lees have bloods of Singaporeans on their hands!

Job loss is a natural side effect of the business cycle, just like bleeding is an expected symptom of the menstrual cycle! Unfertilized ovaries get discarded and new ones are imported to replace the old and useless. You cant blame the PAP for being pragmatic. If Singappre no more, PAP also no more!
