OAKLAND, Calif. —Tyler Thompson is an unlikely star in the world of Chinese opera.

The black teenager from Oakland has captivated audiences in the U.S. and China with his ability to sing pitch-perfect Mandarin and perform the ancient Chinese art form.

“As soon as he opens his mouth and sings in Chinese, the Chinese are very surprised and then feel very proud of him,” said his music teacher Sherlyn Chew. “When he puts on the costume, and all the acting, you can see that he’s pretty good."

PS nobody come in here with they speak or sing better than a native chinese singer. So what? They won't be chinese no matter how good they sing or speak the language.

You're right. They smell the same. When I was in uni in US, couldn't stand their smell too. The dark skins share one common dislike for water. They can go on for weeks without showering and months without shampooing.

Hey those funeral ppl probably don't know proper chinese music ok.


PS they are playing the music cos someone has died ok. I find it annoying sometimes but i respect them cos a human has died. Of course you don't find since a chinese human has passed on but if some white band was playing for some white funeral i bet you wouldn't find that annoying. I can bet on that.
