The next time you think your ears are too big, remember this story you are about to read.

Pedestrians nearby a certain building in China were shocked into speechlessness when they lifted up to see a boy, not more than six years old, dangling between the bars of the window at the eighth floor of the building and seemed like he would fall to his death any minute.

As hard as it is to believe, the only thing that was preventing the tragedy from happening are the boys’ ears, who happened to be too big and hence, causing his head to be stuck between the bars, reported the Daily Mail.

While the boy Ming Ming was screaming out of terror, the large group that had gathered on the street below could only watch nervously as the emergency services attempted to save the boy.

A hydraulic pressure expander was used to force apart the bars and Ming Ming was pulled back to the flat in time.

It was indeed, like what fire service spokesman Wang Shen said, “a miraculous escape.”

“He could have fallen to the ground – or have been suffocated – at any minute,” said Wang.
