Toilet door can't be locked. What if my modesty is exposed?

STOMPer Belly ache was horrified when he saw that the toilet he was using had a hole where the door latch should be. Besides the danger of accidental exposure, he felt that the hole was an open invitation to Peeping Toms.

In an email (May 17), he said:

"These pictures were taken in the men's toilet at The Frontier Community Place in Jurong West Central 3.

"I was visiting the NLB branch in this community centre when I had to answer the call of nature.

"I rushed to the men's toilet and found that all the cubicles were occupied except for 1.

"Faced without a choice, I entered the only vacant cubicle.

"To my horror, the door latch was missing.

"As it was very critical, I merely closed the door to do my 'urgent business'.

"All the while, I was fearful that someone might push the door open and expose my modesty.

"Also the round hole in the door (where the door latch should be) was an open invitation to passing Peeping Toms.

"It was a regrettable incident for me.

"I hope the management would fix the door as soon as possible so that other people can use the cubicle with peace."
