Beware ! HDB town councils give all leaseholders' names to their contractors !

Private estates do not have this problem, estate council members are not allowed to give owners names to any contractors so they can do cold calls.
This is a good practice ---respecting privacy !

But HDB town councils give the names of flat leaseholders to their licensed contractors.
These men knock your door, call your names and try to push their services to you.
They work in groups and they are very persistent at your door during the night.
They even can tell you that HDB town council will call them if you want contractors.

I suggest to all of you, if ever these contractors come to your door and call your names while selling their services to you forcefully, call the police !

Meantime, these people work for a BOSS, WHO MAY BE GOOD FRIEND of HDB town council people and this is how they get your names.

By right, HDB town councils are not allowed to give away leaseholders names to any contractors.

Any lawyer here to advise whether we can take up any legal action against HDB town councils who give away names to the contractors.

HDB flats may not be owned by leaseholders, but there must be rules to protect the privacy because names GIVEN to contractors can be used for criminal activities.
