I have seen Singapore for 3 prime ministers and presidents, since 2002 and this time it has been worse for me so far in the past 2 months.
1- PM Goh chock Tong = President Nathan
2 PM Lee Hsien Lloong = President Nathan/ President Ms Halimah
3 PM Lawrence Wang = President Tharman Shanmugaratnam
Life has not been any good since then until now besides initial happy initial 2 years that too may be because i was just here for the first time. My most recent trip starting july with a changed PM and President looks like being the worse of all my life based on my experiences that i faced right from the time when i booked a rental room in Singapore from India which the person cancelled it at the last moment just before i was about to leave for my flight to Singapore. until finding the jobs here.
When one takes up a contract technology job how the laws work is not clearly understood if it is ones work that is needed or it is just extracting brains as well #Humour (like Shahjahan when built the taj mahal in India and cutting off one's hands so that the workers were unable to build another taj mahal) #humour
So over the past few years since competition from opposition worker party in the voting this country has 0 importance for a foreign degree, or for a Permanent residence nor for previous Singapore experience gained. To my surprise even temp jobs like cashiering jobs of 7 $ and hour which were very easy to get last time in Singapore were very difficult as most of those jobs had been taken up by work pass holders who were more like a permanent.
Recruitment has been very closed for many jobs and industries even the basic daily wage jobs. The Jobs banks portal is a sham, i may have applied to 2000 jobs in past 7 years but only 1 successful job
A country like the Americas which everyone rants which has a vetted Green Card and it promises only new 70k Skilled employers each year and past experience is usually considered good.
I started my life in 2002 when Pm Goh Chock Tong was there as a contract Technology Support Consultant hired via a headhunter in Singapore. Salary not that great but enough to motivate me for work here and leave my India Job.
The salaries in India since then had almost become equivalent in Indian rupees to what i got in Singapore. Almost every even junior most batch mate of mime may have earned and saved so much more than me in the past 2 decades of my career in Singapore.
A successful technology leader back in my job then with good reputation at work and have had a successful student record back then by being in the top 10 most of the times. Good character and a pleasing personality and came here with a smile and happiness and hopes.
Little did i know the hopes will turn out to despair. misery over my 1.5 decades in Singapore, when both India and Singapore have achieved tremendous growth prosperity of wealth. Littel did i know that i will be trapped for ever in a place where i my whole life, carer and good will be at stake....forget giving prosperity for my children or a safe future for myself or a good retirement or a happy life for myself as well
A country where meritocracy of power broking is needed for every job description, but it is not clearly stated in any job description. The laws of success in this country i either don't understand nor do i believe has a value system.
At a time when the household income of Singapore and India has increased almost 3 fold, it has caused tremendous loss of happiness, life , wealth prosperity and mental wellbeing in this country.
Where there are schools for mentally retarded and mentally retarded people also have schools and some of them are aslo successful and be come coaches as wel.. finny but true.
When the country says that it needs AI or technology partnerships or people does it mean that a foreign talent or PRs brains will be transferred to a Singaporeans brain or the persons is expected to do work and make a product or offering is not clear to me.
at this age of my career after seeing through 3 PM and 3 presidents i am not sure if i will ever get my life back in this greedy country.
As to why i am still here, as both Singapore and India have been stalking me via investment, and my brains have been drained in this country and investments by each country in another have also caused super high amount of inflation in India and in sgp.. with each of the two countries leader's political heads and large corporations have gained for their own benefits living in India has been bad as well now as the tech industry is not good.
One finds something where one loses it and it cant be found in lost and found of another country
The almighty eyes may see beyond investments some time.
