A pet groomer in China uploaded video to her douyin account where she has about 1 million followers.
In the video she recorded of herself she scolds and roughly handles a Shiba Inu dog purely because it is of Japanese origin
China lacks any anti animal cruelty legislation, allowing such incidents without legal repercussions
It has also been revealed that the owner of the dog knew about it and even agreed to sign a waiver, meaning that if the Shiba Inu died during the session, the pet groomer would not be held responsible.
The video crossposted to X quickly gained over 800,000 views, with Japanese commenters outraged demanding dog export bans to China and panda swaps, whilst someone also doxed the groomer's details for potential reports to have her banned from social media platforms
