In the Chinese classic "Investiture Of The Gods" 封神演义 or 封神榜, the council of gods determined that the Shang dynasty should end. To bring about its demise, the goddess 女娲 dispatched 苏妲己 to accomplish the divine mission. She bewitched the emperor and instigated him to commit all kinds of evil imaginable so that his subjects would rebel against him. Before the prime minister was eaten alive, he was said to have uttered these words: 国家为亡，必有妖孽 (before a country is about to fall, demons and evil spirits roam)
In modern times there are no demons or evil spirits in the strictest sense of the word. But there are so-called "demons" who spirt away our country's coffers, squander our country's wealth and corrupt officials who still run our government departments. In addition, could the massive breakdowns of our public transport system, public housing becoming more expensive by the day, a healthcare system that cannot meet the demans of its end users, etc. be the work of "evil spirits" who can't plan properly? Could these be ominous signs that our country is about to fail?
