Liew Eng Choon is not alone in feeling indignation of undischarged bankrupts defrauding Official Assignee (OA) and judgement creditors ST 16 July
There are many judgement debtors like Tan Bee Kee and his wife, Yeo Mui Joo of Advance Gravis Computers who are are gainfully employed by Mini Toons earning $3500 and $4000 (Tan ndeclared). After some twenty years They still did not pay dividend despite of good salaries and driving a Honda Stream – upgraded from a Hyundai previously - which they obviously own but registered in a relative’s name as the car was always parked around their flat and in front of the office where Veronica Yeo works (her sister’s company Mini Toonds…). Some years ago they even had a family holiday overseas with their son in tow.
Complaints were made to OA but to no avail. This gives the impression that debtors are protected while ensuring fairplay to creditors is not in the card resulting in the crooks, bankrupts getting richer and the creditors getting poorer.
This couple owed some five million dollars to judgement creditors none of whom were paid except for CPFB and IRAS. Their combined salaries placed them in upper middle class and it is comfortable living. She pays income tax while Tan Bee Kee does not...
In above situation why are creditors not paid or OA does not see to it?
