The Thai Meteorological Department announced that the Land of Smiles is set to enter winter from Oct. 23,
The Nation reported.
Bangkok and its surrounding areas are expected to reach minimum temperatures of 18°C to 20°C.
Mid-December 2025 to early February 2026 will be the coldest period, with average temperatures expected to fall to 21°C to 22°C across Thailand.
Suchada Thaensap, Thailand's secretary to the Minister of Digital Economy and Society and ministry spokesperson, said that not all areas in Thailand will become cold immediately.
The chill will first set in in the North and Northeast regions before gradually spreading to the Central and Eastern regions.
Areas along the Gulf of Thailand in the south will continue to receive frequent rainfall, with heavy showers potentially causing flash floods, thunderstorms and strong winds.
Highland and mountainous regions to the North and Northeast, such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Loei, Nakhon Phanom, and Sakon Nakhon could experience temperatures as low as 7°C to 8°C,
