I received a mail from Citi informing me that from 2015 I won't be able to use my atm cards to pay bills/fines at those AXS machines. Seems that I have to convert my ATM card to a debit card if I want to continue using those AXS kiosks.

Curious whether other banks are doing the same:confused:

Not sure, I never use AXS kiosks. I do my bill payments online. I can withdraw money from my normal POSB ATM card without problems.

I use it to pay all my utility, telephone, .... bills. Don't know if I can Use my Citi account to do this?

I think it is a new requirement from the "authorities" that you have to use a debit card. This is the same clowns who came up with the rules of turning on your ATM card/Credit Card if you want to use it overseas:(

I often travel & I have mine turned on permanently.

You have to wonder about this because I haven't heard of fraud committed using these AXS kiosks. So why create more headache for everyone:confused:

I don't have a Citibank account but I was nagged by another (local) bank to upgrade to a new ATM card with an embedded microchip.

My current ATM card already has an EMV chip. However it can't be used with the soon to be upgraded AXS system. Why am I not surprised:D

I'll get be getting the new ATM & debit card although I don't need the debit card feature. I see this as a step backwards because if I lose the card there is the potential of someone using the debit card. From what I understand it can be used to charge up to $2,000

I checked with Citi & I can use the internet banking to pay my bills. However I would prefer to limit access to my bank account for security reasons.

So in future I will probably keep my ATM/debit card at home to prevent losing it.
