About 2 years back I sold a property in Mudland. By default they withhold 3% for Real Property Gains Tax - it’s called RPGT, not LGBT. They sent me a refund cheque to Singapore address after finalising tax assessment, but I had moved and the new occupant somehow must have thrown away my letter. I called the Hasil and had a few surprises:
1) They have option to English speaking officer
2) She was extremely courteous and helpful. She helped me check and explained when the cheque was sent, that it did not get bank in and expired
3) She agreed I just need to send her email on new mailing address
4) Today I received a S$ cheque from Hasil, nicely converted at a favourable exchange rate for me, issues from CIMB Singapore
Which Revenue department has such good service?
Malaysia boleh!
