SINGAPORE: A 29-year-old man was arrested for attempting to bribe two police officers who had detained him for having contraband cigarettes.
Around 11:20pm on Tuesday (Sep 9), the Ang Mo Kio Police Division's Sergeant Lim Kok Beng and Special Constable Sergeant Mohammed Sufyan Abu Bakar along Sembawang Drive had spotted the suspect behaving suspiciously while on patrol along Sembawang Drive.
The man was found with one packet of contraband cigarettes, and when informed that action would be taken against him, he offered S$200 for officers to let him go. His bribe was rejected.
