san leandro police in the bay area most likely took a page out of the little india incident in sg and planned to arm the police department with of all armored vehicles....an armored ambulance. unfortunately, many residents are opposed to it, and they intend to make their voices heard in city council hearings. their main opposition of the armored ambulance is the prospect of the vehicle being equipped with "gun ports" and that it sets precedence for the militarization of the police. the contention is that the "ambulance" is a guise for urban assault missions, but police have countered that it will be used as a "rescue" vehicle.

redwood city in the bay area has a similar vehicle, but it's used for the swat team.

vacaville, which is nearer to napa, had an armored ambulance, but it is an older model based on a traditional design typically used by armored companies carrying cash.

very important for them to design capacity for 9 spf personnel plus room for 3 scdf personnel. and it must be air-conned.
