are we a bunch of silent but angry commuters?

Re: maybe mrt breakdown is a cohort with taxis?

just when they ve increased cab fare, mrt broke down. could it be a conspiracy to force commuters to helplessly switch over to taxis which could be running empty most of the times?

the 2 events are dreadfully too co-incidental and very timely.

SMRT says MRT breakdown provides good income for SMRT taxi drivers

SMRT says sorry for 'income opportunity' message to taxi drivers

SMRT has apologised for a message it broadcast to its fleet of taxis on Thursday amid the chaos on the subway system.

The message, which flashed on its taxi drivers' screens at about 8pm, read: 'Income opportunity. Dear partners, there is a breakdown in our MRT train services from Bishan MRT to Marina Bay MRT stretch of stations.'

A photo of the screen - presumably taken by a taxi passenger - soon appeared on social networking site Twitter and spread online, drawing sharp criticism.

'Bad enough they are raising taxi fares, now they want to cash in on an event that is their fault to begin with,' said sales assistant Candice Tan, 24, one of the many who tweeted about it.

Attempts to contact the photographer were unsuccessful. The message, presumably sent by SMRT call centrestaff, would have reached all 3,100 taxis in its fleet.

An SMRT spokesman said on Thursday night: 'We are sorry for the oversight. Our staff were using a template message, and we have since corrected

see what i mean?

No prizes for guessing Suzhou Loser Josephine Teo will drum up a line to defend stupid Merchant Saw.

e.g.

'There is no good time for MRT trains to fail'. Her classic defence when Ruler Loong raise GST taxes.

'Bad CEO is not directly related to bad management', the demoted Raymond Lim may conclude. Well a lousy minion is soon demoted to a lackey, as he may jolly well realise after the procedural elections.

'The trains usually work, they fail when they want to'. An ingenious idea from Saw herself.

forget about how talented one is; about how highly educated or "qualified"; about ranting "caring and improving" lives and all those craps.

one just gotta ve the X-factor and the gift of gab to cover up goofups such as mrt. the bombastic yakking about the bad incident to convince and pacify the general public. that would be the good leader the country is done for :(

strangely, singapore looks perfect in the exterior but there is this pricking feeling that internally, they could be structural problems which the gov either is ignorant or keeping mum and doing nothing. until the next bigger goofups, such flaws would remain in hibernation.

mas selamat saga was already a telling sign. orchard cannot be flooded and yet flooded a couple times was a trailer ....and now this mrt broke down.

today, yes sat - a day after they apologised, mrt broke down again which affected NOVENA to marina bay line.

play it again, pap! something internally is definitely NOT RIGHT!!

Bus bridging service is available between Ang Mo Kio and Bishan stations, between Ang Mo Kio and Raffles Place stations, as well as between Marina Bay and City Hall stations.

Passengers on the affected stretches are advised to use alternative transport or take the bus bridging service.

Calls to the Channel NewsAsia hotline of the disruption of service started coming in at about 7.00 am.

One caller, Jeannie said that at about 6.50 am, she and other passengers who were in a train near City Hall MRT were asked to evacuate the train and had to walk along the tunnel after "the doors got stuck".

Another caller said at 7.21 am, when service on the North-South Line broke down towards Marina Bay, an announcement was made about the breakdown but no reason was given.
