Someone should remake this movie based on events in 1933 where reportedly 7 man stopped the Japanese army for 5 days.

I can imagine a Jap emissary saying, "This is madness!"
Then one of the soldiers said, "This is Badaling!!" before kicking him down the Great wall :)

In 1933, 20,000 Japanese soldiers and 50 tanks invaded the Pa Tou Lou Tzu, a strategic key point of the Great Wall. With only seven men stationing, these heroes took on the entire army for five days before succumbing. Director Chang Cheh recreated this epic battle with his favorite cast including Ti Lung, David Chiang, Alexander Fu Sheng and Chen Kuan-tai, as a celluloid tribute to these nameless souls.

someone should do a movie about Chinese Communists GRU agents doing sabotage work in mainland china during the 1930s to provoke the Sino-Japanese war. The agents eventually succeeded in setting up Marco Polo Bridge incident.

should be a great movie.

Sounds a whole lot like Akira Kurosawa's 'Seven Samurai' or it's western remake 'The Magnificent Seven'.

Oh yes, from Wiki
Defense of the Great Wall/长城抗战, Nekka Sakusen/熱河作戦 or Operation Nekka to the Japanese

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_Man_Army

The defense of the Great Wall was one of the earliest battle, or "incidents," between the Chinese and Japanese troops. The Chinese outpost, with a force of seven men, held off the invading Japanese army for five days. On the sixth day, all 7 soldiers were killed in action. However, the outpost successfully covered for other Chinese forces to retreat. The seven soldiers tricked the Japanese army into believing there was a thousand Chinese troops defending the outpost. Bronze statues of the fighting soldiers were built in Lesser Kinmen out of commemoration.

"This is Badaling!!!" :)

I saw the western Magnificent Seven with Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen.
Great movie.
